Steak `n Shake in Columbus

Their food is not as good as other fast food places. Server kept forgetting to bring requested items to our table. Some of the booths needed cleaned, especially swept underneath. Lots of food and paper debris under some of them. Place wasn't overly busy.

I frequent this location often with my kids. I have always had at least a good server, but I haven't always had great service. Yesterday the team seemed to be on the ball. The food always comes out as expected. We come back for the food especially. I usually go for the Garlic Burger or the Triple Steak Burger. The prices are also great. The rewards program earns discounts quickly. I think last night I got four meals for under $13 with my rewards coupon. Drive thru can take some time, but it's a little bit to be expected.

Great kids and friendly staff. Amazing burger, always. Did see a manager handle people's burgers with out a glove. Had one on her right hand but was used left hand.

Extremely poor service. Got order wrong twice and overcharged me for things I didn't want. Plus burger was smooshed. Someone needs a reprimand.

Just went through the drive threw, wanted to give Jesse a shout out! He was super friendly and had a great smile on his face. Honestly, you could tell he was busting his butt and working hard and still very pleasant. As a customer that can make or break someone’s day and he definitely made my day! I hope this steak and shake values his positive attitude!

I personally don’t eat here, but I do doordash and orders are NEVER ready on time, always 10-15 min after it’s pickup time on the app, it’s annoying having to apologize to my customers for something that’s not my fault when their food is running late. The few employees I always see at night is typically pretty friendly except the old man that can’t hear anything and screams to talk to you.

It's an odd mix of fast food and sit-down table service. Extremely reasonable prices, not the best food, but once in a while, it really hits the spot. Good milkshakes, too, making it a great place for kids.

I feel to totally enjoy ones Steak and Shake experience one must dine in the restaurant. Your burger, fries and onion rings are hot of the grill and more appetizing. When you use the drive thru your burgers get smashed and the fries are cold by the time you get home. This location seemed incredibly clean. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. The food was quite delicious. I think I will visit this location again.

They often seem to be overwhelmed with customers. We've been here a handful at different times of the day. Dinner and off hours are slow, but lunch seems to be when we get the best service. Food is good and comparable to other steak and shakes.

Okay, so I recently got shakes from Steak 'n Shake on happy hour and all the shakes I ordered were 40%-50% whipped cream. I figured maybe they cut back on the actual milkshake because they lost money on happy hour. However, this time I went during regular hours and they did the same. You know how you fill a glass up that's small at the bottom and large up top? Well, less drink goes on the small part and the bulk fills up the upper part. So, the bulk of all my $4 milkshakes were missing.

A curious lack of steaks, but the shakes more than make up for it. Also, they have hotdogs, which is awesome!

I came through drive through on Tuesday 6/2 around 9:30 pm. I am not one to complain too much but when this place messes up my order 3 times in a row then there is an issue. I ordered a Jalapeno crunch with a fried egg on the sandwich. The first time they put the egg on the wrong sandwich. Second time they didn't put an egg on there. This time they gave me a royal burger which is NOTHING LIKE A JALAPENO CRUNCH. I paid for a double burger and got a single royal burger. TELL THE COOKS TO READ THE TICKET. As a kitchen manager from a restaurant I would have a talk with the cooks and tell them to just read the ticket. Everything else was fine but I'm tired of not getting what I paid for.

$4 double stack and shake with frie for a dollar add on. It was perfect amount of food. Fries were the freshest I have ever had. Great visit!

Good food at a cheap price. Many locations are closing and the ones that remain open ussualy have staffing issues. This one has a worker quit and walk out while we were there. Still a good place for a shake, just be prepared to wait. The drive thru is always slow.

I mean I hate to give a place a bad review but this restaurant is not the best at all. They employees are rude and the food isn't really good and the store never seems to be clean. It use to be different and I use to love coming here but in the last 2 years or so this place has gone down hill. It's down right sad.

One of my favorite (almost fast food) places. Love the shakes and the thin fries. The steakburgers are pretty good also. Can get crowded.

My fry was cold and no napkin! I took the time to go back to the window and they fixed but is a shame! The burger was good

Service is good. But it may be hard to do a quick lunch here during busy hours. Tried that once and ended up getting late. Shakes are excellent and filling! Also, try the seasoned fries!

I paid 3.09 for a milkshake at the drive through that would not pull through the straw. I went back in for a new straw still didn't help. I was in the car and can't eat with a spoon and drive. If I wanted frosty style shake I would have went to Wendy's and saved myself some money and not complain about having to use a spoon. I don't go to fast food hardly ever and this is the type of reason why. My experience was not good. Won't ever go back to this location or any other.

Open 24 hours a day and has good burgers for a cheap price. This fast food chain resembles a diner with burgers and milk shakes. This restaurant has a good selections of breakfast items, pancakes, biscuit and gravy, etc. Cannot beat the price anywhere, including your typical fast food burger joints.

Myself and my family absolutely steak and shake can't wait until we can go back inside of our favorite one

Absolutely phenomenal food, service and experience. The restaurant, as busy as they were the entire time, was so clean and organized. We look forward to going back, in fact, we did. We made two trips this weekend to this Steak n Shake and both were absolutely perfect.

The truffle burger is my new favorite. Really like the guacamole burger too. Great service.

Forgets something every time. Just ordered for our team at work and they forgot the cheese for everyone’s French fries, which is an up charge. The burgers were overdone the buns were charred. Not ordering from here again.

Not friendly at all there and cook was on the phone just chatting while we all waited. The lady manager there is very nice though and speedy so I like it when she's working.

Slow service but good food

RUDE customer service, understaffed, wont serve you unless you have a car. wont tell you that till uve stood waiting at the cash register for over 30min waiting to be addressed. absolutely ridiculous comparing to all other steak and shakes ive been too. by far never coming back. manger needs to be addressed by upper management

They need more help. Great food but waiting forever to sit then forever to eat makes it not worth it. Hope something changes.

It's cheap, tasty, and affordable. The shakes there are awesome! The food is great and delicious. They also have a drive through. Overall, the food is great.

This place always has the go to burger for me. The classic double with everything on it or the western BBQ bacon are my favorites. I've even tried the off-menu 7 and 7 (7 layers of steak burger and 7 layers of cheese). I've never had a bad meal here.

This was my first time at a steak and shake. It was a bit of a let down. The Big Burger was far from earning its name. If you are going to charge Red Robin prices and least try and make a burger that is comparable.The shake was very "meh". If you are going to call yourself Steak and Shake you should probably make sure those two products are outstanding.On the plus side our waiter was very energetic and upbeat. If I ever came back it would be for the service not the food.

The wait was 20 minutes to get a shake, and the styrofoam cup had a hold in the bottom. I brain freezed it down to share my lap. Give it a 3 because staff was reading pleasant

Old School. Burgers and the Best Zagat rated Milkshake. Can't really go wrong. The only reason for 4 stars? Some places are cleaner than others.

Good service but the food was not. The fries were so undercooked and squishy. The burger didn’t really have a flavor of anything, just substance. Everything lacked seasoning BAD. They also forgot my barque sauce.

Drive thru was the only option due to corona but food was alright and the guy serving was nice.

It was actually a good Steak & Shake. The one by where I live closed down because it was being terribly run and had craptastic service. This one was pretty good though. My order was put in quickly and came out pretty quick as well. There was only one server really doing most of the work and he was getting around to the all the tables quickly, taking orders, ringing people out at the register, and taking out food. I don't remember what the guys name was but he deserves a raise or something.

After the location on US-23 closed at midnight I ended up at this location. Waited in the drive through so long that two cars behind me sped off in a rage. I was on a mission though. Ended up having to wait for about 15 minutes for a milk shake. Wife really wanted eggnog - which she said was good. Just super slow service.

Best service at a Steak and Shake that I've ever received! Our waitress (Maddie) was absolutely wonderful. We had a party of 14 and she did a great job all with a smile on her face! Great customer service like that will keep you going back again and again!

Got two burgers here and it was literally just meat on a bun. No toppings. Horrible.

Excellent service, the waitress was quite knowledgeable and help me save a few bucks on my bill by suggesting specials. The food was great. Better than other Steak and Shake side been to recently. The restaurant was clean. The prices were Fair. We got our order exactly as we wanted it without a long wait.

The food itself is fine and the servers are generally nice. The organization is really bad. Service is slow because of it and the place is usually messy. Steak'n Shake needs to rethink how they run their internal restaurant if they want to stay competitive.

Very slow drive-thru late night since covid-19, up to 35 minutes between arriving, getting order and leaving. Food is hot & fresh and milkshakes are amazing!

I love Stake n' Shake! It is hard to pass up. They always get the orders right. One time the shakes were gritty... But now they are back to normal!
